Why is this a paradox? Can you solve it?

To start off with, the way the question is posted, it does not really limit the barber to being the only one in the village who shaves others. If it were posted ' There is a village where the barber "is the only one who" shaves all those and only those who do not shave themselves. Who shaves the barber? ', then you can stump most people a little more. However, some people will still realize that a barber does not have to be male and will come to the conclusion that the barber is a female and does not shave. Simple logic can easily answer most questions of this nature, the problem is that most people will over think questions and riddles simply because they are typically difficult. The new ones that come out use that thought process to their advantage in order to stump the majority of people with a simple riddle.
